Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about finding and hiring pool technicians through SkimHire.
How do credits work?
Each credit unlocks one candidate's full contact info (name, phone, email). Credits never expire and can be used on any candidate in our marketplace.
What if a candidate doesn't respond?
We offer a satisfaction guarantee: if a candidate's contact information is incorrect, the candidate is unresponsive, their profile materially doesn't match their actual qualifications, or the candidate is no longer available, you can request a credit refund within 30 days. Just click the refund link on any unlocked candidate. See our Refund Policy for full details.
What screening do you do?
Every candidate goes through a structured intake interview over SMS or email where we confirm: pool service experience, skills, certifications, vehicle availability, service area, availability, pay-rate expectations, and driver's license status. We do not run criminal background checks, credit checks, or formal employment-history verification.
How do refunds work?
If you're not satisfied with a candidate, request a refund from their profile page. Your credit is restored immediately so you can unlock a different candidate. Refund requests must be submitted within 30 days.
Is my data private?
Yes. Candidate contact info is released to a specific employer only when that employer purchases an unlock credit. Your company's contact info and hiring activity are never shared with other employers or with candidates we haven't yet connected you to. See our Privacy Policy and California Privacy Rights for details.
How many employers can contact the same candidate?
There's no fixed cap. While a candidate is actively looking, any employer can unlock their contact info — so more than one company may reach the same candidate. Candidates stay listed only while they're engaged: we check in periodically, and anyone who stops responding (or opts out) comes off the marketplace until they re-engage. Unlocking gets you a direct line, not exclusivity.
Could a candidate I unlocked be sold to other employers later?
Yes. Unlocking a candidate gives you their contact info, not exclusive rights — while they're actively looking, other employers can unlock them too. A candidate stays listed only while they stay engaged; if they stop responding to our periodic check-ins or opt out, they come off the marketplace, and they're relisted if they re-engage. Candidates can pause or opt out permanently at any time. See our Terms of Service for the full policy.
